I've long said that Democrats are those who don't read books, Republicans are those who stopped reading at graduation from college and Libertarians are those who never stopped. If you don't know what the 10 planks of "The Communist Manifesto" or the dynamics of slavery are when you see them, how are you to be a Libertarian? If you cannot compare Keynes to Rockwell or Tolstoy to Hitler or Marx to Friedman, how are you any different than a thug following a sharp tongued pirate?
