Email to Texas Rep. Wendy Davis

During my many years of studying Mahatma Gandhi, I was most surprised to learn that he left the door open to abortion.  You see, he was a philosophical anarchist, who believed in the ultimate abolition of the state.  As a proponent of non-violence, which comes from Leo Tolstoy's, "The Kingdom Of God Is Within You," an interpretation of Jesus Christ's "Sermon on the Mount," Gandhiji believed in "judge not in all circumstances" (Tolstoy).  We are not to make legal determinations of others, according to Tolstoy's examination of Christ's words, as "one man's righteousness is another man's evil, and vice versa."

Good Luck,

A Vulgar Violation of Peace

Back when I was an Inerrant Christian, it was common to go to a church service and see a giant American flag draped across the entire front of the auditorium.  Today, I was flicking through the television channels and saw Pastor Charles Stanley of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia;  yep, he had the same flag there behind him on the screen.  Now I like Stanley more than most, and I've met him.  He's a good guy in my book.  But I can see how we Americans are brainwashed with this unholy alliance between statism and religion.

It took my read of Leo Tolstoy's, The Kingdom Of God Is Within You, before I saw it.  I'll be mailing a copy to Dr. Stanley in time, but my eyes are now open to how oath-taking is such a fundamental violation of everything he stands for, everything his Christ stands for.

The Sermon on the Mount says something so unimportant, until one sees the context is the existence of the very Kingdom and the abolition of the Evil Empire:  the state.  Only when flags stop being waved in our houses of worship will Truth Only/ God have preeminence in America and peace a place at the table.

My Five Point Plan if Elected Texas Governor

1)  Do not take oaths (ends the state and all its systems of violence).

2)  Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth (mitigates envy and covetousness and refocusses life on the family and community).

3)  Render not evil for evil (ends war).

4)  Go not to law (ends the legal system).

5)  Judge not, condemn not (ends bigotry, discrimination, the prison system and the death penalty).

Conclusion:  Peace on earth.

A Gandhian Approach to the Zimmerman/ Martin Shooting

As we watch the trial for the shooting of Travon Martin by Mr. George Zimmerman, a Gandhian observation suggests that the foundational problem was that the neighborhood contained those who had hoarded treasure on earth that others could covet.  Mr. Zimmerman was there to guard the neighborhood from those who would steal from the property owners, as he had stopped a break-in recently in that very neighborhood.  A black male was involved, we hear, in the previous break-in, and Martin was also black.

The solution is to not lay up treasure on earth that could become an attraction to others.

In a stateless society, there are no gun laws, so Mr. Zimmerman's holding of a weapon would be acceptable.  And the wearing of a hooded sweat shirt would also be reasonable by a young black man.  The outcome would be no trial, no judgement, no condemnation.  There would be a common understanding that the arc of the universe is long, but it leans toward justice.  Man is neither the arc nor justice, nor the purveyor of said justice.

This 4th of July

I think we should all think about Jesus and his words this July 4th.  Let's think of all the soldiers who took the oath that Jesus told us not to take, so they could render evil against those he told us not to render evil upon, so we could be safe to lay up treasure on earth that Jesus told us not to lay up.

And let's think of all the politicians and judges who built our prison industrial complex and all those in those prisons that Jesus told us to "judge not."  And lets think of all the preachers and all the churches who make the death penalty politically acceptable for those we kill in spite of Jesus' admonition to "condemn not."  Let us think of all those who feel worthy to throw the first stone.   And let's think of all the law students and all those who go to law in spite of Jesus saying, "go not to law."

Let's think about the Law of Moses (openly abrogated by Jesus) monument displayed on the Texas State Capitol grounds and why the Law of Jesus is not represented on those same grounds in this heavily Christian state.

Yes, let's think about the words of Jesus this July 4th.

On the Road

I'm on the road in Limon, Colorado.  I'll deliver in Kansas tomorrow, then Chicago next week, and try to get home to my campaign bumper stickers after the 4th of July.

I passed through Frisco, Colorado this morning and remembered how perfect it all was.  It is the most healthy place in America, as I remember.  There is a very large lake just down the hill from Vail, Colorado, the people waking around it and into the mountains for exercise.  Vail is where the water runs both toward Denver and Utah, where I guess both Colorado Rivers begin.  One must be the one into Texas and the other through the Grand Canyon.

Supreme Court Rules on Gay Marriage

Today, the U. S. Supreme Court ruled in a five to four decision for overturning the Defense of Marriage Act, I'm informed.  A non-violent approach would have been to follow the Sermon on the Mount and abolish the state by not taking oaths.  Interesting how Jesus had the answer all along.

Will Stop For $5's and $10's

Well, I'm about 30 miles West of Needles, California on the way to a seven drop that starts in Denver on Thursday morning, goes to Kansas and on the Chicago and Indianapolis for a final.  If anybody wants to do a fund raiser, I stop for $5's and $10's but no African bankers please;-).

I found my homeless spot in San Diego this morning, just down the hill from Ronald McDonald House under a bridge on I-805.  The trees are giant and the plant life is something to see.  As I understand Barbra Streisand lives in San Diego, so please feel free to tie a $20 bill onto a rock and throw it at me if you see me, Babs.  I'll get a quarter pounder combo and all will go well.

My Economist's Brain Says:

As I sit here on the Mexican border, just below San Diego, California,  I reflect upon my internal conversation that has for years placed me in San Diego as a homeless man when it all comes to a Keynesian-Marxist end, at least in my life.  I see property ownership being a tedious task of arbitrary property taxes wherever in America I settle in my old age.  I see building a trucking company being an exercise of funding the Keynesian-Marxist machine of forced violence upon the world's peoples.  The stock market is falsely inflated with QE3 funds, etc., so it is futile to find good deals there.  I just see no path to make a profit that I could use to benefit the world.

I met an elderly homeless man who polishes truck rims here in the truck stop to make ends meet.  I guess day-to-day work is the only honorable path, letting tomorrow  take care of itself.

Gandhians Great Defenders of the LGBT Community

A little over a year ago, I finished a class on the History of the Civil Rights Movement at university.  In the class, we learned that Baynard Rustin, the organizer of Dr. King's March on Washington, was a very open homosexual when he visited India to meet Mahatma Gandhi, only to realized that Gandhiji had been assassinated a week prior to his arrival.  Rustin was greeted in true Gandhian fashion, with open celebration by Gandhiji's lieutenants.

I am also informed that Gandhiji was followed by a group of transgendered men during his life without rebuke.

So when I asked the Dallas LGBT Commerce Group for its endorsement yesterday, I was a bit surprised to be put off as just another politician, and informed that they do not endorse political candidates.  You see, Gandhians are the moral and intellectual defenders of their world to the outside.

We take the very words of Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount and effectively nullify in context any attacks upon the lesbian gay bisexual and transgender community .  "Judge not" means that we are not to make legal determinations of others, based in specific on the Law of Moses and the Prophets.  Jesus abrogated the Law of Moses and the Prophets, and all the preachers in all the churches pulpits in this previously Christian nation know it, but they do not like to be dragged away from the Law of Moses and the Prophets to acknowledge it, as it is so easy to gossip and judge and condemn with these abrogated laws of old.

The peace Jesus envisioned in his Kingdom is one rooted in not judging.

Bonnie and Clyde Death Car

I am staying at Whisky Pete's on the border of California and Nevada last night and tonight to get my 34 hour reset on my hours of service.  I like the prime rib out here in Nevada.

Anyway, I noticed that they have the Bonnie and Clyde Death Car on display here in the hotel/ casino.  Most all the bullet holes are interestingly on Clyde's side of the car, with several coming to dent from the inside on Bonnie's side.  It appears that they nailed Bonnie through the windshield on her side.

I have a Great Uncle "Red" who told everyone in our family a story of being a newspaper boy in Lake Dallas, Texas and selling a newspaper to Clyde.  Around back of a country store, he saw Bonnie and Clyde, Clyde reading the newspaper and shooting cans off a fence post.  Uncle Red had a good reputation and died a couple of years ago at age 91 a 32d degree Mason, so I'm sure he was telling the truth.

Paula Deen and the "N" Word

I think I've said the "N" word once in my life.  I was alone, and I said it out loud just to hear it, as I remember.

Cooking Guru Paula Deen has been fired from the Food Network for using the word in the past, according to a legal deposition.  She has asked forgiveness.

A prominent preacher I used to hang out with and I were talking one day in South Carolina about 2005, and I told him that I was not proud of being educated in a Bible College where the leadership had said the "N" word.  He said, "You mean, nigger?" (a big grin on his face).  I replied, "Yes, that's the word."  I knew at that moment that I had no interest in him from then on.

I do not think it should be taken out of our American literature of Samuel Clemens and so forth.  It tells a story all its own.

However, Paula Deen's use seems to be far in the past and not something she now endorses.  This word is a violence to some and until it is no longer a violence to any, I suggest we not use it in everyday discourse.

Got Some Led

I just bought two remastered Led Zeppelin albums (CO/DA and Presence), and I've got it going in the truck on the way to Las Vegas for delivery tomorrow morning.  You have no idea how I can get until you've seen me after 16 hours of listening to this band, as I did in the 1990's while driving my truck through West Texas.

It always amazed me that I had the privilege of helping Aaron Russo on his last film, the man who brought this amazing band to America for the first time.  Music just flows in my life.

From buying an unknown band dinner at a truck stop in Ann Arbor, Michigan years ago called The Smashing Pumpkins to meeting James Taylor to being on the backup list of the Dallas Opera in 2010, I just live and breath music.

Three Reasons I Believe In A Theistic Presupposition

There are at least three reasons I believe in a theistic presupposition for my religion/ Gandhian Philosophy, as I look at the last several blogs.

First, I see vast irreducible complexity in the natural world as insurmountable evidence of the existence of a personality I call God/ Truth Only.  The bacterial flagellum is noted as the most common, but I am informed there are many other irreducibly complex creatures just here on earth.  I cannot see them with my natural eye, so I must trust others that they exist.

Second, the Cosmic Connection I wrote about with musician James Taylor tells me that there is something designed going on in the universe.

Third, there is order to the universe that can be understood and profited from.  I speak of more than economic profit.

I Had A Dream Last Night

I had a dream last night.  Milton Friedman and Paul Krugman were in it, so you know it wasn't an erotic dream.  ;-)

Well, it was so depressing.  All I could think about is how sleeping, where I am now, in the back of a truck in Twin Falls, Idaho (I'm driving trucks to pay down college debt), on the way to a delivery was as good as life was ever gonna get in a Paul Krugman money expansionist world.  I wondered when the economists of today would awaken to the fact that this monetary expansion is why my $40,000 trucking job of the 1990's has the buying power of $25,600 in today's cash.  I look at the prices of fuel and food and motels, and I shudder to think of the future.

And Paul Krugman thinks we need more monetary expansion.  He sure isn't a fan of Milton Friedman's book, Money Mischief, I'm sure.  For what it does to buying power alone, one would think that Friedman would win out with these guys.  It is so hopeless to continue the "state conception of life," as Tolstoy put it.

We have to restart the whole thing if there is any hope for tomorrow.  The roots of Keynesian-Marxism are in too deep to pull it out.  They have the Constitution saying things an idiot knows better, like the "necessary and proper" clause supporting Social Security and host of other things.

To Atheists and Pro-Choice Libertarians

One should not be concerned about a Gandhian being a libertarian, given that there is a large atheistic and pro-choice population in the Libertarian Party in the United States.  Yes, we Gandhians pull from all religions, all economic systems and all philosophies.  We internalize what we can and place what we cannot on a shelf until it can be internalized.  This shelving comes from Buddhism, a religion that is atheistic.  Because of the Truth Only focus of Gandhian Philosophy, it can operate equally in both a theistic and non-theistic paradigm.

When we pull from the Sermon on the Mount, we are simply recognizing a brilliant insight by Jesus of Nazareth to direct humankind toward peace on earth, peace being the natural outcome of Truth Only.  Truth needs no defense, you see.

Also, it might surprise some that Gandhiji left the door open to abortion, and it has impacted my approach over time.  I see abortion as a moral choice that should be examined by those involved without economic consideration.  Beyond this, I have no position on abortion.  We seek a stateless conscience driven society, as is expressed in Tolstoy's works on the Sermon on the Mount.  What you and your local society determine is right, without state coercion, is what peace on earth is all about.

"Judge not in all circumstances" -- Leo Tolstoy.

Social Capital

Whatever the outcome in the Texas Gubernatorial election of 2014, I plan to use whatever social capital gained to promote a more nonviolent world from the heart, something I think we all desire.

I plan to deal with the violent tax system intrinsic to the Keynesian-Marxist philosophy.  I plan to work to end the civil war in Mexico to our immediate southern border and end the drug war along the way.  I plan to rename the streets around the Walls Prison Unit in Huntsville, Texas:  1)  Render Not Evil For Evil Parkway, 2) Go Not To Law Street, 3)  Judge Not Way and 4)  Condemn Not Street.  I shall work to replace the Law of Moses Monument at the Texas State Capitol with the Law of Jesus Monument:

1)  Do not take oaths (ends the state and all its systems of violence).

2)  Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth (mitigates envy and covetousness and refocusses life on the family and community).

3)  Render not evil for evil (ends war).

4)  Go not to law (ends the legal system).

5)  Judge not, condemn not (ends bigotry, discrimination, the prison system and the death penalty).

Conclusion:  Peace on earth.

Render Not Evil for Evil: Mexican Border Policy

I am not a big fan of the "brotherhood of man" proposition;  hoverer, I do believe the cousinhood of man is accurate.  We are all at least cousins along the border, if not more.

So I ask my cousins in the Mexican gangs to hear me out, as a Texas Gubernatorial candidate.  The Jesus you worship is the Jesus who said, "render nor evil for evil."  And so I ask you to consider leaving your weapons at home while I seek election in Texas.  Live the law of non-violence, as I seek to bring the state to non-existence (do not take oaths ends the state and all its systems of violence), so we may all have peace from its violence.  Render not evil for evil, for one man's evil is another man's righteousness, and vise versa.

I own 20 acres of sand outside of El Paso, Texas, and so I know of the beheadings in Juarez and the civil war there, rooted in the judgments of governments in Mexico and the United States.  I say to these governments, judge not ( do not make legal determinations), condemn not (do not impose a death penalty).

To my cousins serving as border patrol agents, I say, "Lay down your weapons and become a soldier of peace, as I am."  Bring food and water to your jobs.  Help those in distress.  Open the jails and teach kindness and mercy as the law.  Share.  Tear down this fence, Cousin Obama, for fences are only jails to all of us.

To fellow cousin land owners, open your homes and hearts to a new reality of peace on earth.  Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, but live a life of sharing and mutual benefit.

Wow!!!

The other day, I was overhearing one of these "Focus on the Wrath of God" Christian radio shows, and the famous host was talking about how he believe that we need a wall to protect our border with Mexico.  All I could think was, "What part of the Sermon on the Mount did you get that from?"

In similar fashion, today I read:

"House Speaker John Boehner today called NSA leaker Edward Snowden a “traitor” who put Americans at risk by releasing classified information to the media.

“He’s a traitor,” the highest ranking Republican in the House of Representatives said in an extensive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. “The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk.  It shows our adversaries what our capabilities are.  And it’s a giant violation of the law.”

Boehner endorsed President Obama’s characterization of two programs, which allow the NSA to gather information about phone calls made in the U.S. as well as information on foreign suspects collected from major internet companies, as critical to the government’s ability to fight terrorism. He said that there are “clear safeguards” built into the programs to protect Americans."

I am reminded of a man who released the Pentagon Papers in the 1960's, informing us that four U. S. Presidents had lied to the American People for decades, after he met a Gandhian woman who told him that his oath to man was meaningless and that only Truth Only/ God has meaning.  We need a world full of those who do not make oaths to less than Truth Only/ God, throwing out oaths to man's coercions.

This openness is the path to peace on earth.

Benevolence in a Stateless Society

For more years than I can count, I've had a policy of placing a $20 bill into the hands of every homeless person I meet.  Yesterday, I found three of them on the grass outside a Burger King here in Bakersfield, California.  (I'm driving trucks to pay down college debt.)  They were all thankful and related that they only use money for "food and cigarettes."

Most people would be revolted at money donated being spent on cigarettes, but I don't judge such things (judge not), meaning that I do not make a legal determination about a person's choice on how they spend my benevolence.  I want them to be at peace with what I give them, not conflicted that I might not approve.  This is a fundamental problem with statism.

So-called "do gooders of the state" are constantly coming with a badge and a gun to take my $20 from me by violence in order to force a homeless person into a herded mentality so that they can give my $20 out in the name of state violence, noting that the bureaucracy of state takes a substantial portion of that $20 to pay themselves for all the violence they do.

If we are to step away from the state conception of life, our benevolence must be as big as the state and as non-violent as my handing out $20 bills yesterday without judgement.

Email Exchange with Arun Gandhi

Hi Arun,

Thank you for the email link on controlling lust.

I know your grandfather attempted to control lust, but I actually think of it as gift from God to keep humanity occupied with procreation, like the plants and animals.  I see that one would use such tactics to control lust in a satyagraha context, but daily life?

Why is control of lust such a big deal in Gandhian Philosophy?

We had inmates, back when I was a prison guard twenty years ago, who were eaten up with AIDS, but I see lust as healthy within the context of mutual consent/ non-violence.

Tolstoy Will Save Your Marriage

When I was going through Bible College in the 1980's, we were taught that the law of Moses and the prophets was to be somehow dovetailed into the law of Jesus and vis versa.  So when my marriage began to have troubles in 1994, I thought I could throw a few zingers of Moses' law at her and she would step back into line.  I judged her (guilty of a crime under Moses' law), and I even thought about condemning her (the death penalty), knowing that I was not in a position to cast the first stone.

When we went to marriage counseling, our pastor said to me, "She's scorned."  At 28, I had no understanding of what that implied.  But after reading Tolstoy, I see now that had I not judged her, it might not have been 19 years since I last saw her, a woman I've loved all these years to no avail.

And like a mirror, she reflected railing for railing, judgement for judgement, until only a sermon from a mountain could ever hope to bring peace between us.

Throw out Moses and the Prophets and contemplate the Sermon on the Mount:  judge not, condemn not, render not evil for evil, go not to law, do not take oaths, lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, blessed are the peace makers, etc.  It might just save your marriage.

The Day James Taylor and I Connected on a Universal Level

In the late 1990's, I was a truck driver for J. B. Hunt, and I spent one day each month off the truck in El Paso, Texas, treating myself like a king at the Embassy Suites Hotel due the the grinding schedule I held all the other days of the month.  As one of these days off developed, I began to have an impression that I should buy a guitar on the way into El Paso.  I thought of Elvis, Willie Nelson, my big brother and James Taylor, all guitar players I'd known of.  I had never owned or played the guitar my whole life, but I knew I needed to buy one that day, so I did and set up my first music lesson in my hotel room that night at 7 p. m.

As was customary, I put on my suit and tie and had the hotel limo drop me off the other side of I-10 for my movie and steak dinner at the local mall.  When I returned to the hotel in the limo a few hours later, I noticed a white van with the rear doors open and musical instruments being taken out.

As I entered the lobby, I saw the back of James Taylor's head at the front desk checking in.  Wearing a suit, I guess he thought I was with the El Paso Symphony (where I soon found out he was to play the coming day).  I said, "James Taylor."  He turned around, we shook hands, and he greeted me with his polite way.  I talked with him on my impression of a need to buy a guitar on the way up the elevator and him being in the mental mix of inspirations to do so, and it was clear that he took a real interest in the cosmic dimensions at play.  I invited him to sit in on my first guitar lesson, and he politely declined, citing a need to get set up for his event with the El Paso Symphony the next night.

We spoke in the atrium and crossed paths at the ice machine over the next day.  He offered me free tickets finally at Will Call, but I had to decline, as I was due back in the truck that day.

It was one of those interesting stories you can only live.

A History Of Non-Violent Direct Action in Russo

In 2006, I had the privilege of helping Aaron Russo in the scene development and promotion of his movie, America:  Freedom to Fascism.  I remember the last few scenes carrying a promotion of non-violent direct action as the solution, and several people whom I screened the movie for balked at the idea.

This was before I'd examined Tolstoy's works (Mahatma Gandhi's teacher).  Back then I knew nothing of abolishing the state through the teachings of Jesus Christ's Sermon on the Mount:  Do not take oaths (ends the state and all its systems of violence).

Today, I see more and more clearly how aggression of a state can be mitigated or even abolished through these ideas made so pertinent to the future of human civilization through Gandhiji's work in India.  If we stick together with an absolute focus on truth and non-violence, there is nothing we cannot do to free ourselves with absolute confidence in our path.

Please, please read Tolstoy's books, The Kingdom Of God Is Within You and My Religion, if you want to change the world, the way Mahatma Gandhi did.  If you want to abolish the Fed, there is a path;  the personal income tax, there is a path;  the military aggression of the state, there is a path;  Do not take oaths (ends the state and all its systems of violence).

Just imagine what 100,000 votes for Gene Chapman for Texas Governor would do to the political establishment of every nation on earth, not to mention our own.  It would put the fear of the abolition of their forms of human existence into their hearts.  If you oppose gun control laws anywhere, you should support Gene Chapman in Texas.  If you oppose any law, any state aggression anywhere, Gene Chapman is your point man today.

IRS Attack On Americans

We are seeing in the press the story of how IRS employees targeted Americans, who hold Tea Party philosophical views, for special rejection and opening of their donor lists.

In a nation that refused to take oaths, the IRS would have no power whatever, like a fog that just disappears in the morning sun.  As Tolstoy shares in the final pages of his book, The Kingdom Of God Is With You, an individual can stop oath taking altogether, like a horse harnessed to a wagon and be dragged with the honor of his action;  however, a more practical move may be to educate all the others harnessed to the wagon of state violence and bring the wagon to a stop together.

This is my campaign.

So the next time someone tells you to "render to Caesar" and pay your taxes, note that this was a placation of the state and the real future was intended to be:

1)  Do not take oaths (ends the state and all its systems of violence).

2)  Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth (mitigates envy and covetousness and refocusses life on the family and community).

3)  Render not evil for evil (ends war).

4)  Go not to law (ends the legal system).

5)  Judge not, condemn not (ends bigotry, discrimination, the prison system and the death penalty).

Conclusion:  Peace on earth/ The Kingdom.

Question for Gene Chapman

Question:  "Mr. Chapman, if we do away with the government, what will happen to the nuclear bombs we have in stock here in the US?"

Answer:  Under my thinking, local villages of perhaps 200 people will supervise their communities with the advice of local universities.  The nuclear bombs will be either turned over to these universities or a decision on the village level will be made to do with the bombs what they think appropriate.  Keep in mind that for my conception of human government to exist, we will be in a very different non-violent emotional and intellectual space than we are now.

I would remind you that anything like a weapon, wealth, excessive beauty, etc. can be used as a tool of coercion.  This coercion is something we want to avoid, from a Gandhian perspective.

Former President XXXXX
XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX

Dear Mr. President:

When one receives the endorsement for elected office of the "Intellectual of the Age" (Dr. Noam Chomsky), I think you will agree that even a former President of the United States should give pause, a very long pause.

You see, a little over a hundred years ago, Leo Tolstoy wrote a book that would transform a young lawyer, M. K. Gandhi, into the Mahatma of India and set into motion a non-violent approach that would revolutionize everything on earth, abrogating the violence of Marx and Keynes for the green fields of stateless libertarianism.  The Kingdom Of God Is Within You, represents an examination of Jesus Christ's Sermon on the Mount and what this Kingdom suggests to human government.

My run for Texas Governor is centered around the central plank of Tolstoy's book:  Do not take oaths (ends the state and all its systems of violence).  I am also including all five planks I discern from the Sermon on the Mount for your reading, although they have no direct bearing on my plan to follow the instruction to not take the oath of office if elected Governor of Texas.

The result of a society of non-oath takers is the abolition of the state, according to Tolstoy and in the example of Gandhji in his dealings to throw off British Colonialism, and will develop into a free market economic engine I suggest to be similar to Milton Friedman's Hong Kong.  Education through private endeavor and tit for tat economic relationships will control overpopulation, food production and distribution, crime, climate change concerns, etc., etc.

I look forward to your endorsement for my run for Texas Governor.

Most respectfully,
